Can I audition during the Singur Ballet Summer Intensive?
11
Students interested in being considered for the year round program are strongly encouraged to audition and attend the summer intensive at Singur Ballet. Participation allows our Director and Artistic Director to see how the student works over the course of the program and allows the student to experience Singur Ballet, its faculty, and training approach. Students attending a Summer Intensive who express interest in the year round program will be observed over the Summer Intensive which will serve as their audition. They will be informed of their audition result at the conclusion of the Summer Intensive.
Do I need audition photos? Do they need to be professional photos?
12
All students must upload a photo in first arabesque and their headshot with registration and any emailed audition materials. Photos do not need to be professional, but should be taken in a clear, well lit room, with the student’s full body visible.
All images sent via email should be added as a JPG attachment and not included in the body of the email. All photos must be properly labeled such as (First Name Last name, Headshot) NOT a random named image file.
Students are considered for our Junior (Ages 10-13) or Pre Professional levels (Ages 14-20). Both levels are day programs in our Pre Professional Training Program.
The audition will be a technique class with barre and center work. Pointe shoes may or may not be required for the audition. Students should wear a black camisole leotard, pink tights, and hair neatly secured in a bun.
Audition results are sent via email within one week of your audition date. However, some students receive their results sooner.
Each student will be given a deadline by which they must submit their registration forms, registration fees, and tuition in order to secure their place in the program. Students who wait until after the deadline are not guaranteed a place in the program and can be enrolled only if space is available. Late payments such as registration and tuition fees also result in a late fee.
Unfortunately, Singur Ballet and staff do not offer dancer feedback for any in person or video audition.
Unfortunately, parent observation of any kind is prohibited at Singur Ballet in order to provide a focused and distraction free environment for all students in the classroom.

Handbooks and Agreement letters must be signed and returned before the start of the program in order to participate.

Singur Ballet at this time does not offer housing or dormitories. However, you may request our resource page that provides several safe, local housing options by emailing us at singurballet@gmail.com.
